The Plan for a Turquoise and Navy Kids Bedroom

My mom and dad love having the grand-kids over to play and for the occasional sleep over so my mom wanted to make a room that is all about them.

Her request was a turquoise and navy bedroom that is gender neutral, playful, and would grow with them. Right now there are 2 girls and 1 boy with another little lady due to show up early next month!

The walls will be grey on grey stripes (see our trick to getting perfect stripes here) and here is our starting point for the rest of the room.

Update: below are links to the finished room or DIY projects related to the plan above.

  1. Jumbo polka-dot painted curtains: I loved the fabric above but it was expensive so we bought premade grommet top curtains and I painted jumbo polka dots myself!
  2. Owl toss pillows: I'm a big fan of sewing your own pillow covers!
  3. You'll see in the reveal that we went with a small white dresser and then painted an amoire this turquoise color for extra storage.
  4. IKEA shelf
  5. Colorful wall art: We actually ended up making our own Mod Podge Letters with the first initial of each grandkid to personalize the space.
  6. Accessories
