5 Simple DIY Projects to Organize an Office

I have a confession to make. My office is horrific! I really can’t take it any longer. If you could see where I sit day after day trying to get my creative juices flowing you would laugh.

I guess a photo is in order, but for today I am working on brainstorming some ways to dig myself out of this heap and come up with some simple ways to organize my office.

So what better place to look than to some other amazing bloggers that have been working on getting their office organized. The task is seriously so big, that I have to start small or I will never tackle this mess. So here it goes…5 really simple projects to organize an office.

simple DIY projects to organize your office

When it comes time to completely overhaul my office, I can assure you that the budget will be extremely tight. So I’m going to have to gather up and come up with some thrifty ways to get organized and make the space one where I can be productive and creative.

First up is a way to display some things that spark creativity or gather ideas for my projects. I know pinterest is huge in this way, but sometimes I like the old school way. Chelsea at Two Twenty One made this fabric covered board with nail head trim. I love the detail!

I have a lot of little supplies for my crafts and sewing and keeping them tucked away with like items in fabric covered boxes would be perfect! Amy at Homey Oh My is working on her office space now and has a ton of great ideas like this one. The possibilities of what you could stash in these are endless.

I’ll also need a spot to put papers that need to be dealt with in some way and  these covered cereal boxes from Soho Sonnet would be the perfect solution. And they would be completely free because I have all of the supplies somewhere in this office….if I can find them!

Of course I’ll need a handy spot for my pencils so why not make it look cool? Plus, I’ve been needing an excuse to get out the washi tape and Erin from How to Nest for Less gives me the perfect excuse right here!

I already have some of these magazine holders on hand, but they could use a little love like these ones from I Heart Organizing. And any time I get to paint something, I’m in!

Washi Tape Crafts

So. I’m officially adding this office to my to do list! And now that I said it out loud, I have to do it. I’ll keep you posted (and share a before photo before I begin so that I can be completely embarrassed.)

These are some good ideas! My sewing room needs to be cleaned out and organized. I’m like you, the budget for that is pretty much nothing, so when I finally get around to it, it’ll have to be super inexpensive!

I love the idea of the cereal box being up cycled! I never would have thought of that.
