Having problem putting the envelope cover together. After following your directions for measurements the back of the cover is shorter in width so to put my corners together to sew around the whole pillow just doesn’t work. I am sure that it is a measurement that is off. I have five other covers to make. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am confused as to the measurements for the envelope pillow cover. Insert is 15″ so cut front piece 16″ sq. Then back pcs. 1/2 lngth of insert (15″) which would be 7.5 with 5″ added for overlap…total of 12.5″. Width say in insert which is 15. (?) Making each back piece 12.5″ x 15″ for total of 2 pcs that are placed on 16″ sq. front. That doesn’t seem right. 15″ piece(s) not large enough to meet 16″ dimensions. need some clarification please because I’ve got several pr. of covers to make for 18″ pillow inserts. Did very much like the way you showed the inside BACK of pillow. Didn’t know if overlap ran from side to side or from top to bottom. Your picture very helpful! Looking forward to your reply!

I am having the same problem. The back pieces are not as wide as the front because of the measurements. I have 5 more covers to make. What should I do to correct this? I would appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks so much.

Hi Roger and Sally, after lots of trial and error, I’ve found that cutting your pieces the same dimensions as your insert makes for the best fit. I’ve updated the instructions to reflect this and hopefully make it less confusing. Really appreciate the great input!
