Can you believe it is March already? I have to say it snuck up on me. I love March. It means that Spring weather is coming, the days will be longer, and it is the month that I became a mom, so it is extra special to me. Of course we can’t forget St. Patrick’s day!
I used to be one for a nice cold green beer, but these days I find myself leaning more toward a fun cocktail. So the hubs and I got to mixing the other day and came up with this fun green cocktail for St. Patty’s Day. We pretty much took a Midori Sour to a whole new level here. After a long debate about what to call it we settled on a very simple name. So here is the Melon Whiskey Sour.

How to make a Melon Whiskey Sour
- 1 part White Wiskey
- 2 parts Melon Midori
- 2 parts sweet and sour mix
- (optional) 1 part ginger ale- this will make it a little less strong
- about 6 frozen honeydew melon balls (made with a melon baller)
Before it was cocktail time, I used a melon baller to create melon balls. I put them in the freezer for about an hour so that they would make a fun garnish and act as ice cubes for my green cocktails.
Before pouring, I put one big square ice cube at the bottom of my glass, followed by 3 frozen melon balls, then poured away!
I think I’m going to have to have my girlfriends over for a little St. Patty’s celebration this year! You want to come?
