The Plan for a Turquoise and Navy Bedroom for the Grandkids

My mom and dad love having the grand-kiddos over to play and for the occasional sleep over so my mom wanted to make a room that is all about them.  Her requests was a turquoise and navy bedroom that is gender neutral, playful, and that would grow with them.  Right now there are 2 girls and 1 boy with another little lady due to show up early next month!  The walls will be grey on grey stripes{see our trick to getting perfect stripes here} and here is our starting point for the rest of the room.

Moodboard: A Bedroom for the Grandkids

1. Curtain Panels and Faux Roman Shade:Navy and white large polka-dot fabric   **Update** That fabric was way to expensive, but we came up with solution: Jumbo Polka-Dot Painted Curtains.
2. Throw Pillows and Fabric Storage Bins: Navy sketch owl fabric and Argyle fabric.
Duvet Cover: Watercolor zig-zag print fabric
3. Dresser or Amoire: we will be painting a large piece of furniture this turquoise color.
4. Cubbies: Ikea shelves that will be filled with fabric storage bins.
5. Wall Decal and Frames with photos: My mom ordered this wall decal on etsy and we will ad color on the walls with painted frames.
6.  Accessories:  How cute is this owl night light?

I am loving the combo of navy and turquoise!  It is perfectly gender neutral and will be age appropriate for years to come.  I’m heading over to her house tomorrow to get started and will keep you all posted with projects along the way and of course the end result when we are done!

Update:  The Grandkid’s Room is done!  See the reveal {here.}
