You know how there seems to be a running joke in society that if you are just like your mother that is somehow a bad thing? Am I the only one who takes it as a wonderful compliment when someone says that I do something just like my mom, or react to something the way she would? What can I say, I love that woman. She has taught me how to be me and I owe her everything.
So when Mother’s Day comes rolling around this not always very good gift giver has always struggled to come up with a Mother’s Day gift that is going to encompass how much I love her.
Then I had kids. And now that I’m a mom, I realize that it really comes down to my family simply saying how much I mean to them.
Being a mom can sometimes feel like a thankless job and there is a whole lot of giving, and not always a lot of getting. My mom isn’t just my mom. As I’ve gotten older and started my own family she has become my best friend. How she always knew to be the perfect combo of mom and friend is beyond me, but she does it perfectly. And I love her for it.
So, I made her this simple Mother’s Day card and thought that there are probably a lot of you who are proud to be who you are as a result of who your mom is. And doggone it we should tell her so, don’t you think?
Of course I couldn’t keep this simple little card to myself, so I thought I’d offer it to you for free. And I made it really easy for you to print out and cut to make a 5 x 5 mother’s day card for your mom.
Here’s how to print your free Mother’s Day Card
- Click here to open the file and save it to your computer.
- Print it out with a quality color printer or send it to your copy store and have it printed.
- Fold it in half and measure 5 inches down from the top.
- Draw a straight line and cut along the line to create your 5 x 5 card.
Once you’ve cut it, add your personal message to let her know how much you appreciate her and have it ready for Mother’s Day!
I plan to add a big fat hug and a little something special, but I know that the words I write down are going to be what sticks.
To all the mom’s out there, Happy Mother’s Day!
