Dining Room Makeover {Inspiration}

Call me crazy but do you ever sit in a room and just imagine what it could be?  I’m sayin’ it outloud…”I DO!”  My dining room needs help!  It is not at all the fun and inviting space that I want it to be, so today I’m gathering up some inspiration to get me headed in the right direction.  Here’s what I’m thinking for a lighter brighter dining room.

 I have big dreams for my dining room.  Right now it looks like this.

This is the room you see when you first enter my home and to me it feels too dark, too formal, and frankly quite boring.  It completely lacks color and those curtain panels were my first ever sewing project (when I had no clue what I was doing.) Although they fake it well, they don’t do it for me anymore.
I want this room to feel a bit more collected, interesting, more casual, and with a whole heck of a lot more personality and color.  I am on a budget, but I have a plan.  So this is going to be my next major undertaking!  I can’t wait to get started!
I pinned those mid century chairs about a year ago and the other week I found 6 very similar looking ones on Craigslist for only 60 bucks.  That is when it all came together in my head.  They need a little bit of help, but when I’m done with them…well…I’m hoping they look fab!
You can read my tips to finding great stuff on craigslist to help you find those diamonds in the rough too.
Ok.  I actually have an hour or so right now to be productive so I’m going to go get sanding!
